We are very pleased to announce the release of primtech 18 Service Pack 4 (SP4) - with amazing features and improvements added for you!
BIM engineering, digitalization and Industry 4.0 come along with requirements and challenges to the energy and T&D industry that they need to be prepared for. We assist you to face and manage the requirements and therefore be well prepared for the future.
In the last months, we continued to listen to the needs of the substation industry and operators from around the world - driving us to develop even more innovative methods and functionalities.
With primtech, we are proud to make the vision - of a fast redocumentation and BIM modeling of thousands of existing substations - a reality by using point clouds and our OSR tool with artificial intelligence.
Even the Digital Twin (BIM 7D) model can be a reality - with the help of our new primtech interfaces.
You will find, in primtech 18 SP4, new functions - to use the laser scanned point clouds to faster create the substation BIM model. There are also newly implemented 2D, 3D, Navisworks and Revit exports as well as a new tool to scale steel.

great updates
It is now possible to download primtech 18 SP4 - including the system requirements - in the primtech INSIDE portal. Alternatively, contact our sales team at contact@primtech.com

primtech INSIDE is still growing - new content and trainings
We are continually updating and expanding our offers in the primtech INSIDE login area. Since last year you have been able to find there the primtech Basic Training in several languages (English, French, Spanish and Portuguese).
Apart from that, we added new primtech Advanced Trainings with exercises - which you can follow along simultaneously.
Remember, all our Subscription customers have the possibility to get a login to primtech INSIDE.

New 3D Solids Scaling Tool - for e.g. steel lattice beams
We have great news: 3D solids in primtech project symbols can now be scaled easily. Thanks to the new scaling options, the top and bottom edges of an object can be scaled independently of each other.
That allows for e.g. the easy adjustment of a lattice column to the exact connection dimensions at the base plate and the beam gantry respectively.
New OSR Features and Optimization
Are you already using our primtech OSR Technology with artificial intelligence to get from the point cloud to your BIM model? Then we have good news for the active - and the soon to be - users! OSR is faster and even more intelligent than before! The conductor recognition has been further optimized and is now even more intelligent - you will definitely notice how the primtech OSR is working for you. We have also optimized the OSR scoring and the settings can now be adjusted.
There are many more optimizations in our OSR, check it out or ask us when you are working on your OSR project. We are proud that you are such a large community and that, alone this year, hundreds of substations will have been worked on using OSR.
New primtech Export for Revit
We have special news for you that some have surely been waiting for. A new primtech export - with attributes - has been implemented especially for Revit. This is now available in the SP4 release of primtech. The respective primtech attributes are exported along with the geometries.
Note on the collaboration workflow: In order for the primtech exports to be imported into Revit, the new RP Connector (Revit-primtech Connector) is required. We are currently in the end-phase of officially releasing and publishing the first version. Just a little more patience, it is coming soon - more details to follow.
Digital Twin with prDi - Interface
Apart from the primtech ERP Connector, there is a new interface - the primtech prDi database interface - to instance management systems (operation phase) e.g. Asset Management Systems. The new prDi interface is perfectly suited to exchange information between primtech and e.g. your Asset Management System. It allows you to display data/information from your Asset Management directly in your primtech environment. The primtech customer can actively use the interface after a few days of customizing. New primtech 3D and Navisworks Export - information exchange
We have new exports to support you even more in your BIM substation planning process. Apart from the usual export possibilities, we now have more specialized exports.
The idea is to support you in the collaboration with other teams and disciplines in the planning phase or definition respectively. Various configurations for the 2D, 3D export can be selected - to create 2D and 3D exports with attributes. This means that primtech metadata is exported along to AutoCAD or Navisworks and therefore primtech information is passed along with your objects.
This workflow is perfect for the collaboration in Navisworks. Through the 3D- or direct Navisworks export, you get a Navisworks model which you can view in the Navisworks tree structure and display their attributes via ToolTips.
primtech Lightning Protection Calculation - new option for protection devices
In the lightning calculation, you can now choose, not only between the Standards IEEE or IEC or radius of the rolling-sphere method, but also additionally between either manually selecting the protection device or - newly implemented - let primtech automatically find them for you. The devices can then be included in your calculation.
New primtech Smart Text - for text fields
From now on, primtech Smart Texts are available, where you have access to defined attributes in the primtech project, e.g. in drawings. By inserting the smart text, you can comfortably display primtech model- or project information. The Smart Text fields update themselves when the information changes in the primtech database.
primtech supports AutoCAD family 2020/2021
primtech 18 SP4 now supports AutoCAD 2020/2021, AutoCAD Architecture 2020/2021, AutoCAD MEP 2020/2021.

To offer you the best flexibility, starting with the first Webcast on June 1st, there will be several dates to select from that are suited to your time zone.
