The energy transition demands a fundamental expansion of power grids across most countries on our planet. Planned grid investments are enormous, yet capital constraints, skill shortages, and supply chain issues create major bottlenecks. Many industry experts doubt whether the required infrastructure can be delivered on time. At the same time, grid expansion strategies often overlook the potential of new technologies and smarter use of existing assets.
